A DARWEN woman is hoping residents will help her add something new to the town's history.
Jane Wareing is gathering photos for a pictorial history of her home town, due for publication before Christmas.
She has been researching for three months and said many historical pictures of Darwen have been used countless times before.
Now she wants local residents to lend her their old pictures to give a fresh vision of the town's history.
They could be of family, streets, buildings or anything else of interest.
Anyone with suitable unpublished photos should hand them to Blackburn or Darwen Library, addressed to Jane Wareing or Alan Duckworth.
A note should also be included explaining the picture, as well as the name and address of the photo's owner so it can be returned.
The closing date for pictures is the end of August. Jane believes there are a number of suitable prints scattered among residents of Darwen, especially the elderly.
