HAVING sailed the world as part of his job, it may sound strange that Peter Vickerage has decided to finally drop anchor in Blackburn.
And even more strange that he has taken up a job inside a former bingo hall.
But for Peter, the lure of running the entertainment side of a new bar proved just too much, so the sun, the sea and the surf all had to go.
He is one of the management team of Jumpin Jaks, Blackburn's newest entertainments venue which opens on Thursday.
Peter has been in the leisure industry for ten years as an entertainment manager for hotels in Spain and Gran Canaria, as well as cruise ships, working for Airtours and Thompson. But his feet will be firmly on dry land when he takes up his role as entertainment manager at Jumpin Jaks on St Peter Street.
Peter, who will also live in the area, said: "Working abroad and on the cruise ships has been a fabulous experience for me, and is something I will never forget.
"I have seen so many places across the world as an entertainments manager, and to travel the earth doing something you love is amazing.
"But I have a new challenge now at Jumpin Jaks and it is something I am looking forward to."
Peter will be responsible for overseeing the line-up of entertainment during the week.
