POPSTAR Kevin Simm today gave his backing to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph's Magic Eye Appeal and said: "I know what it is like to lose someone to cancer."
The 22-year-old, who is a member of chart-topping group LibertyX, pledged his backing to the campaign as soon as he heard about it.
The East Lancashire Magic Eye Cancer Scanner Appeal aims to raise £200,000 to buy state-of-the-art equipment which will diagnose the types of cancers which are responsible for one in seven cancer deaths in the UK.
An endoscopic ultrasound, will make diagnosis for them quicker, less traumatic and almost 100 per cent accurate, thus helping to save lives.
The equipment our readers help to buy will put East Lancashire on the health map and move one step closer to becoming a regional cancer treatment centre.
It contains a revolutionary "magic eye" which is ableto pinpoint where cancer is and what stage it is at.
Kevin, from Abbey Village, near Blackburn, is currently number one in the charts with his group's third single, Just A Little and is awaiting tomorrow's chart to see if they can make it two weeks at the top.
He said: "I am totally, 100 per cent behind this campaign. People in my family have died from cancer and I know how traumatic it can be.
"I would urge people to give all the money they can to help the appeal."
