Jade Reynard was the star of the Rossendale Primary Schools Cross Country competition after winning all three of her events.
The Newchurch CE pupil proved too good for her opponents as she crossed the line first on three occasions at the annual event held at Haslingden County Primary School.
However, Jade's individual performance wasn't quite good enough to help her school win the team award which was won by Waterfoot -- with Newchurch a very close second.
Jade rightly picked up the gold medal for her unbeatable displays with Laura Briggs of Crawshawbooth in second place. Heather Parker, a pupil of team winners Waterfoot, was in third position.
Another young runner to shine on the cross country circuit was Jayke Jackson of Holy Trinity.
While Jayke could not complete a clean sweep of victories, his two wins were good enough to win the individual prize. Danny Watling of St Saviours was in second place with Declan Riley of Crawshawbooth taking the bronze medal position.
But yet again the team award did not go to the school of the individual winner with Crawshawbooth scooping to win the trophy.
Awards were also given to the best small and large schools in the borough.
And St Mary's RC, Haslingden won the small school trophy for both boys and girls while the large school trophy went to Crawshawbooth.
The cross country competition is one of the largest events in the Rossendale schools' sporting calendar and more than 90 children took part in each of the three races.
