ACCRINGTON Stanley will not be making an approach for Lancaster utility man Kenny Mayers.
The former Chorley, Morecambe and Bamber Bridge midfielder was wanted by Accrington last season and seemed on course to join the Crown Ground set-up after talking to chairman Eric Whalley.
However, the 31-year-old club captain decided to stay at the Giant Axe but is now on the transfer list.
But he won't be coming to Stanley who are unprepared to do a deal with the man who snubbed them.
Mayers - who can also play in defence or up front - has been at the Giant Axe for two seasons and in that time was also chased by Barrow.
Meanwhile, Lancaster striker Brian Welch - who spent a spell at the Crown Ground - is believed to be out of contract.
