THE Forest of Burnley organisation is planning a very active June and they want lots of people to take part. For more details you can telephone on 01282 839657.
On Sunday, June 16 at 2pm there will be a family cycle ride but this can also be followed on foot.
The five-mile long route will begin at Ightenhill Park tennis court and travel to Grove Lane Plantation in Padiham and back along the newly laid out Cycle Lane.
Here is splendid countryside and also follows a Sculpture Trail. Cyclists should not forget to bring a helmet, waterproofs (just in case) and a light snack.
On Sunday, June 23 a Woodland Festival will be held in Towneley Park beginning at 11am and finishing at 4pm. There will be woodland craft demonstrations, live music, arts and crafts plus a walk with a sculpture trail. There will be a flying exhibition of birds of prey -- a wonderful chance to see these graceful predators in action.
