WORSTHORNE'S popular Mums and Toddlers group meet on Thursday mornings in the Church Rooms from 9.30 to 11.30.
It only costs £1 per family.
The Toddler Group's main fund-raising event this year is being organised by Barnardos -- a Toddle at Blackpool Zoo which will take place on Wednesday 19th June.
The Worsthorne Toddlers will be setting off from Church Square at 9.30am. Sponsorship forms and more information can be obtained from Mrs. Utley on 416890.
To enter the Toddle at Blackpool Zoo will cost £3 for an adult and all children are free.
75% of the money raised will go to Barnardos and the remaining 25% will go into Worsthorne Toddler Funds.
THE Borough Council has confirmed that screen planting was not imposed on the recent planning application for Butchers Farm.
However, screen planting had been imposed on an earlier application relating to the other agricultural building on site.
IT has been reported to the Parish Council that all the drains in Worsthorne Village are blocked as well as two drains near The Barn in Hurstwood. The Chair is to request the Borough Council to investigate.
THE Borough Council has confirmed that it will shortly be planting flowers in the tubs outside the Reading Room.
THE parish councillors have discussed how to avoid a repeat of the stolen flag prank and it has been agreed that the Parish Clerk should request the Borough Council to investigate whether the flagpole can be raised to the first floor window level of the Reading Rooms so that the flag can only be raised from inside the building.
THERE will be no Mothers' Union meeting on the 4th June.
Partying for the Jubilee
WORSTHORNE will be celebrating the Queen's Golden Jubilee with a party starting at 3pm on Sunday, June 2nd in the Vicarage Garden -- please take your own picnic and chairs. Games will be organised for the children. Songs of Praise will be held in the Garden at about 6.15pm.
