ANOTHER 18 pubs in Hyndburn have been granted early morning licences for the World Cup.
This brings the total number of pubs in the borough which will adhere to strict rules, including having a big screen TV and serving food, to 33.
The additional pubs are the Castle Hotel, Whalley Road; Baileys Cafe Bar, Church Street; Lamb Inn, Whalley Road; Black Horse Inn, Abbey Street; Queens Hotel, Eastgate; Duke of Wellington, Abbey Street; the Alma Inn, Manchester Road; the Woodnook Inn, Marsden Street; Kings Arms, Lee Street; Oaklea Private Members Club, Whalley Road; the Griffin's Head, Burnley Road; Dog and Partridge, Back Lane - all Accrington.
Brewers Arms, Thwaites Road; Hare and Hounds, Blackburn Road; the Black Dog, Union Road; the Tavern, Union Road - all Oswaldtwistle.
Commercial Hotel, Commercial Road, Great Harwood; Rishton Legion WMC, Walmsley Street, Rishton.
Police said that some of the pubs in Accrington, Oswaldtwistle, Rishton and Great Harwood had applied for permission to open up on just one date while others had opted for all nine available dates.
