POLICE are warning homeowners to be vigilant after a thief conned his way into a pensioner's home -- pretending to look for his cat -- and took a purse containing £30
The man, described as a white, approximately 5ft 8ins tall -- called at the 75-year-old woman's house, in Revidge Road, Blackburn, around 2pm on Monday.
Detective sergeant Sally Riley, at Blackburn CID, urged others not to fall for the same trick.
She said: "We would warn all homeowners, especially elderly ones, to be on their guard against bogus callers."
