FORGET London, Paris, New York and Rome. Bury's the place to be this year!
That is at least according to coule Barbara and David Evans who were the "lucky" winners of a free trip to the borough.
So impressed were the husband and wife team from Telford with good old fashioned Lancashire hospitality they are already planning a return visit.
The two won their extraordinary break after entering a free prize draw when visiting the "Great Days Out" event at the Reebok Stadium.
Their visit included a tour of the Bury's "World Famous Market", a look round Bury Parish Church, a trip on the East Lancashire Railway and to finish off, a meal at the award-winning Ramsons Restaurant in Ramsbottom.
Barbara said: "Bury has so much to offer its visitors, the friendliness of the people has to be noted. The market of course must have a huge impact on any itinerary, it certainly is a must for all visitors . We have never seen such a variety of goods, the fish stall must be seen to be believed.
"We very much enjoyed our trip on the East Lancashire Railway. The visit to Ramsons was of course an experience. It was certainly an insight into culinary delight. We truly had a wonderful meal. We came away feeling that we had been very spoiled."
