SHOPS and businesses in Earby have been making their premises more attractive in the hope of winning the town's Best Dressed Window, organised by the parish council and Earby Development Group.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Pendle, Coun Pauline McCormick and her sister Gillian Carradice, will judge the competition on Saturday and present the winner with a luxury food hamper.
Children are involved in the Golden Jubilee, taking part in an art competition. They were asked to paint a picture of how they would like to see the it celebrated.
Their work will be shown at the New Road Community Centre between 11am and 2pm on Saturday, June 8.
Other events include a concert by Earby Brass Band, at 2pm, on Tuesday, June 4, and a garden party organised by Pat Spenceley at her home in Water Street, on Saturday from 2pm.
