THE teenage driver of a car which crashed leaving his brother in a coma for 10 weeks will appear before Hyndburn magistrates next month.
Ian McMinn, 18, has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking and document offences. He is expected to appear at Hyndburn Magistrates' Court on June 17.
His brother Andrew McMinn, 19, of Blake Gardens, Great Harwood, was a passenger in an Isuzu Trooper which left the road on a left hand bend in Clayton-le-Moors in February.
He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary. He was later moved to Queen's Park Hospital, Blackburn, where he spent eight weeks before being transferred to Highbank rehabilitation unit, Bury.
Andrew's family, friends and work colleagues have been fundraising to help pay for possible further treatment at the £2000 a week centre and the teenager's after care.
Another passenger, Ryan Baird, 25, of Spencer Grove, Great Harwood, was also admitted to hospital after the crash. He was treated for a cut to his head and later released.
