A MAJOR exhibition featuring some of the region's finest professional artists is coming to Samlesbury Hall.
The installation, entitled Secrets, will showcase the work of nearly 20 members of the North West Design Collective, a group of artists, designers and craftspeople that was formed in 1996 by graduates of the University of Central Lancashire.
Jenny Cork, whose workshop is at Bashall Barn farm shop near Clitheroe, is a glass artist who has previously exhibited her work around the world.
She said: "I was involved in the Collective from the start and it has been a great way to bring together different artists and styles into a single exhibition.
"I'm looking forward to exhibiting at Samlesbury Hall because its such an accessible venue that people will be able to see art close-up."
Jenny will be showing one-off glass jewellery pieces and glass wall pieces.
David Hornby of Samlesbury Hall, Preston New Road, near Blackburn, said: "We consider it a coup to bring together so many of the best contemporary artists in the region.
"Samlesbury Hall is best known for its history, but we are delighted to welcome artists who offer a modern approach to traditional crafts."
David added that this was the first in a string of events taking place at Samlesbury Hall this year since £200,000 repairs to the Hall's Chapel were completed.
Other exhibitors at Secrets include the painter and illustrator Bita Karoonian of Clayton-le-Woods.
Secrets runs at Samlesbury Hall from May 28 to June 16. For opening times, call 01254 812010.
