A MAN who preyed on the homes of elderly people in Darwen has been jailed for two years.
Andrew Neville Pilkington, 18, from Bolton, was locked up by a judge at Preston Crown Court after being convicted of two burglaries in the Darwen area.
Both were homes of elderly people, and he used a 'cat and ball' method of getting into the homes, distracting the residents before stealing.
At Preston Crown Court, he was sentenced to two years for each count.
DC Graham Simpson, from Darwen CID, said: "This is a good result for us.
"His crimes were getting worse as each one took place and old people had good reason to be worried."
