GREENMOUNT all-rounder Bobby Horrocks has left the Bolton League side to join the Rams.
Horrocks begins his Acre Bottom career with a second team match at Haslingden on Saturday.
RAMSBOTTOM'S young professional Michael Clarke re-wrote the Lancashire League record books at Dill Hall Lane on Saturday by becoming the first player to score a double hundred since the inception of limited overs cricket in 1975.
His knock of 200 not out was also the best ever made on Enfield's ground, beating the 195 made by the legendary Everton Weekes and is the highest ever score by a Ramsbottom player in a league game.
The 21-year-old's innings comprised of 161 balls and he hit 24 fours and seven sixes, one of which smashed the bar window in the Enfield clubhouse!
The remarkable thing about the performance was that it was achieved after Ramsbottom had been put in to bat on a wicket with a lot of variable bounce that should have favoured the bowler.
Clarke, however, would not allow any of the bowlers to settle in to any type of rhythm as he smashed them to all parts of the ground and it was a tragedy that only 80 spectators were present to see his wonderful innings.
At least he had the knowledge that one of those who witnessed his knock was Lancashire's overseas start Stuart Law so the Red Rose county would know where to look if their Aussie star gets injured.
Clarke received excellent support from young Alex Bell with whom he shared a 160-run partnership.
Set a target of 295 to win Enfield's only hope of gaining any points rested with the weather and sure enough the rain came to their rescue after nine overs of their inning so both teams had to settle for three points apiece.
Sunday's game against neighbours Haslingden fell foul of the weather and will be replayed at a later date.
