SO, an all-party Parliamentary Select Committee has decided to recommend a change in classification for some drugs. Great!
I have used drugs for more than 20 years but only the ones prescribed by my doctor to keep me alive. So I can't, for the life of me, think why people want to put chemicals into their bodies just for 'kicks.'
I know from experience that drugs, even those needed to maintain a decent quality of life, have side-effects, so, surely, the ideal way of life is to be totally drug-free.
It is a sad sign of our times when people, especially young ones, have to take drugs such as Ecstasy to enhance their leisure activities.
We do hear about the use of cannabis to make life easier for multiple sclerosis sufferers. MS. is a hideous disease and anything to help the sufferer should be available.
In this case, it would be easy enough for the Government to make cannabis available on prescription for MS. sufferers. For, when all is said and done, most drugs, when used in a controlled way, are beneficial to the user who is under medical supervision.
