BLACKPOOL Tower is dancing itself dizzy this month. The Dancefever competition high kicks off on June 15 in the Ballroom and has been arranged in association with the Norwest Amateur Dancers' Association.
The competition will take place throughout the day in the Tower Ballroom and is a team event with dancers representing their own regions.
There will be three regions, each represented by four teams: North (including Scotland), South, and Midlands (including Wales).
Each team will have a junior couple (under 16), an open amateur couple and a senior couple (over 35) in Latin American and ballroom, many of whom are current holders of major European and British titles. Judging will be on a League basis, which will result in four teams taking part in the final. The winning team will receive a cheque for £800.
International Dance Shoes from Reading is the sponsor of this unique event together with Blackpool Tower and Circus and it is hoped it will be established as an annual event. Call Blackpool Live on 292029 for more details.
