DARING volunteers are being asked to rise to the challenge and abseil down Peel Tower next month to raise money for children's hospital equipment.
Volunteers will be shown the ropes and given a full safety briefing for the event on Saturday June 29, organised by the Children's Hospitals Appeals Trust.
A pledge to raise £50 will secure a place abseiling down the 120-foot monument, with individuals aged from 14-60 welcome.
Appeals trust events co-ordinator Graham Marshall said: "It is 120 feet, but given the position of the tower it will feel a lot higher.
"If you are fit enough to get up to the tower and up the stairs inside, then you will be fit enough for us to get you down."
