THE region's top cop dropped in to Bury on Thursday (May 23) to pay tribute to the borough's crime fighting partnership.
Chief Constable David Wilmot was welcomed by Bury's divisional commander, Chief Superintendent Phil Hollowood, and met with police officers of all ranks during a tour of the police headquarters.
He then enjoyed a meeting at Bury Town Hall with Bury Council's chief executive, Mr Mark Sanders, the deputy leader of the council, Councillor Wayne Campbell, and Councillor Derek Boden, the chairman of Bury's Drug Action Team, to discuss current local policing and community safety issues.
The visit was in recognition of the working partnership that has developed between Bury police, the local authority and other agencies, the Community Safety Partnership.
