PAST civic heads from across the borough came together for a special reunion at Bury Town Hall.
The event, arranged by outgoing Mayor of Bury Councillor Paul Nesbit, featured town council mayors from Radcliffe and Prestwich, as well as chairmen of the Ramsbottom, Tottington and Whitefield urban district councils. Also attending the gathering were the mayors of Bury Metropolitan Borough, who were in office following local government reorganisation.
Guests were David Johnson (chairman of Ramsbottom UDC, 1969-70), Kenneth Barlow (chairman of Tottington UDC, 1972-73), Geoff Ormerod (chairman of Tottington UDC, 1970-71), William Daynes (chairman of Tottington UDC, 1969-70), Henry Donn (chairman of Whitefield UDC, 1971-72), Arnold Holden (Mayor of Prestwich 1966-67).
They also included Ronald Morris (Mayor of Radcliffe, 1971-72), John Mason (Mayor of Radcliffe, 1968-69), Albert Little (chairman of Ramsbottom UDC, 1971-72, and Mayor of Bury, 1983-84), Evelyn Waite (Mayor of Bury, 1986-87), John Makin (Mayor of Prestwich 1972-73), Ivor Rowe (Mayor of Prestwich, 1967-68), Vera Dickinson (Mayor of Prestwich, 1953/54).
Also featured were Alan Matthews (Mayor of Bury 1989-90), Neville Singer (Mayor of Bury 1995-96), Councillor Connie Fitzgerald (Mayor of Bury 1998-99), Coun Paul Nesbit (Mayor of Bury, 2001-02), Coun Trevor Holt (Mayor of Bury, 1996-97) and Coun Winston Ramsey (Mayor of Bury (1992-93).
