THE force is certainly with two Preston children as their Star Wars buff mum names them in honour of the cult film's director -- George Lucas!
Jane Henderson, of Douglas Street, Ashton, has been a fan since the science fiction stories hit the big screen 25 years ago.
Then following the birth to her first child five years ago, the 30-year-old mum thought it would be a good idea to name her newborn baby George, in honour of the great man himself!
After discovering she was having a second child, Jane chatted to her young son George about a name for his new brother or sister.
Initially, Jane says, her son -- who attends Sacred Heart RC Primary, Poulton Street, Preston -- suggested Obi-Wan Kenobi after one of the film's stars!
But in the end the pair settled on Lucas as the name for the new baby following his birth at home on January 31 this year.
"Lucas is beautiful and George is very happy with the name, we went and bought a figure of the original Obi-Wan Kenobi when Lucas was born. George has posters and figures all over his bedroom.
"It's amazing how many people have put the names together and realised what I've done," said Jane.
Jane, who used to work at Famous Army Stores in Preston, remembers all the films and has childhood memories of dressing-up like Princess Leia after seeing the leading character in one of the earlier Star Wars films. Jane said: "I'd put henna wax in my hair and plaited it on top of my head just like her.
"My favourite character is Luke Skywalker though, and we have all the videos -- except Attack of the Clones which I took George to see the other day."
George, who has already seen the new film twice, is currently mastering the Phantom Menace -- the name of the first Star Wars film -- on his computer game.
