WIMBLEDON is calling as South Ribble Tennis Centre launches its search for a major tennis talent across the region.
More than one thousand children will be tried out by top coaches this summer to find a star for the future.
The tennis coaches will visit a host of schools in June and July to find the next Tim Henman or Steffi Graff.
Four pupils will be selected from each school to take part in the regional school championships on Saturday July 13, from 10am.
All players will then enter the tennis centre's Junior Academy which trains future tennis star hopefuls.
Mark Hendrick, MP for Preston, Walton-le-Dale and Bamber Bridge launched the search.
He said: "This programme will help attract more children into tennis."
The scheme has received financial backing from Bowker BMW and Sportsmatch.
