WITH a host of internationally acclaimed artists, extra venues and a strong mix of local talent, Darwen's third Music Live festival, boasts something for everyone.

Getting underway tomorrow, the music will run alongside the beer festival also going on in more than ten pubs across the town.

This years main stage--which is on the Leisure Centre car park--gets underway Sunday, with one of the Country's leading Blues Harmonica players.

A well known local favourite from his appearances in Burnley and Colne's Blues Festivals, Doctor John will share the afternoon stage with, The Winchesters and the Full Zimbabwe.

With evenings headline attractions including 2 Tone favourites, The Selecter-- fronted by Pauline Black--and the Divas of Ska, featuring Jenny Bellstar.

The night's diverse range of styles also offers the Rhythms of African Dance at the Library Theatre.

Whilst across at the Tower Room, The Reserved top the bill of the Youth Stage with their energetic take on skate/punk.

Monday's Main stage bill includes a rare chance to see Algerian Abdelkader Saadoun, who is one of the leading exponents of Rai music. Whilst for Jazz lovers John Wheatcroft, will be a must, with his Django Reinhardt style trio.

In complete contrast, Darwen's own Gone Beggin' will be warming things up with their infectious blend of traditional Irish songs with world rhythms. Always a festival winner, fans can expect to see a large crowd and very little room on the dance floor.

An evening of Heavy Metal is scheduled for the Tower Room, with Nightmare Visions headlining the A.N.C stage.

As always, festival organisers have given plenty of stage time for up and coming young bands.

With promising names worth looking including Rocket Dog, Rhythmic Intent, Invalid, If All Else Fails and Wire Monkeys.
