FOLLOWING the article which dealt with my complaints re the state of some of the inner areas of Blackpool (Citizen, May 16), I would like to thank the paper for bringing the situation to the public's notice.
I would also like to make a comment on the waffle coming out of the town hall in the wake of the article. It's just the same old story I am afraid. They brag about the things they say they have achieved and try to convince us that they have plans for the future.
This is exactly what the council of 20 years ago was saying to us but of course the present Labour majority were in opposition then. They promised us at that time that if they were to be elected in the future then they would alter things in the area. This they certainly did -- they made it a darn sight worse than ever! If that's what they at the Town Hall call "progress", they can keep it.
