I HAVE recently returned to Blackpool after working away from the area to learn of the sad plight of Longview Animal Centre.
Many years ago I re-homed one of their dogs and he was my constant companion for nine years. I know the good work that Longview do within the community and I am saddened to hear of its threatened closure if funds cannot be raised.
I appeal to all your readers who have ever rescued one of Longview's animals to help them now. Please give a little back for all the years of pleasure your own animal has given you.
My own dear dog passed away some time ago. The end had arrived and nothing could be done to save him. But apparently, we still have time to save the Longview Centre if enough of us agree to a standing order of just £2 per month.
Please, all of you out there, who have opened your hearts and your homes to a rescued animal, join me in a further commitment to this vital centre. The animals are depending on us to rescue them.
