WITH regard to Longview Animal Centre, Division Lane, Blackpool, I am so sorry to learn of the financial difficulties it is now faced with and the threat of closure within three months.
Years ago when I lived in the Fylde area I rescued a dog from the Longview Centre, and my mother, who has now departed, has rescued several kittens from them. All were beautiful animals. I'm just letting you know this to highlight the length of time that Longview has been open serving the community. It has always been there giving a safe and secure haven for all unwanted or abused animals.
I have, of course, joined the 4000 Friends Appeal. I am endeavouring to approach my "animal-minded" friends in the hope that they may do the same.
Quite apart from the animals losing their home, if this centre closes the staff will lose their jobs. Surely it is worth just 50p per week to stop this happening.
Thank you Citizen for your sympathetic approach to their problem.
Mrs P J Jones, Sharoe Green Lane, Fulwood, Preston.
