MY rates have shown a considerable increase again this year so why the talk of selling our magnificent St Annes Town Hall?
If any more selling and knocking down goes on in this town we will be left with nothing of beauty or major significance in the way of buildings or facilities.
We will also have no heritage -- nothing left to show future generations, what a beautiful town St Annes once was.
Just a town of flats and some very ugly ones too.
Mr Ken Lee might be chief executive but surely he must not be put in charge of knocking our town hall down. What about an art gallery here -- the building, of course, has numerous uses, apart from its present one?
Before we start talking about the council's lack of funds, let's start talking about the council's waste of money in our once magnificent Square.
Let's start by knocking the stupid domes down and Eastern European tin cans in front of the Woollen Mill. I dread to think what these stupid wind breakers will be like.
All our Square required was a few verandas and York paving and more flowers, not the cheap nasty bricks and flags that have been used. I notice we haven't got a mosaic like Lytham either.
How the council have arrived at the cost they have for ruining our Square astounds me. Not more of this please -- we live here.
The town planners should be sacked over this. A child of five could have drawn up a more suitable plan for our town square -- it's horrendous.
Everything in St Annes used to breathe quality -- now it's cheap and nasty apart from the old buildings.
Our MP Michael Jack doesn't want to know unless it's about Lytham or Lytham Hall parties. Let him take his farmers market on Lytham Green.
Fed Up, St Annes. (Name & address supplied)
