I AM the first to complain about how Darwen is treated by Blackburn Council, but I must say how good the Jubilee weekend it was in Darwen.
The Music Festival would appear to have gone very well, but, to me, seeing Darwen Tower lit up and changing colours, with the assortment of fireworks and lasers going off around it was the pice de rsistance.
This is the first time Blackburn has got it right. I hope that this format can be carried on and that Darwen will be classed as a jewel in the crown of the borough and not just a place you go through to get to Blackburn.
Well done, Blackburn with Darwen council. Perhaps they will now consider lighting the tower up all the time, now that they have seen how well it looks.
ROY DAVIES, Olive Lane, Darwen.
