POLICE have recovered the body of missing Leyland man Philip Rothwell, pictured, from the River Ribble, Preston.
Mr Rothwell, 50, was last seen alive on May 18, after playing drums with a band at the Meadow Street Labour Club, Preston. Then a local farmer reported seeing a body on the mud flats close to the edge of the River Ribble at Nares Nook, near Hutton, on Saturday, June 1.
The joint Lancashire and Cheshire police underwater search unit was called in and recovered a body which was identified as Mr Rothwell's -- a vehicle fitter at Leyland Trucks. His family, who live in Dunkirk Lane, Leyland, have been informed and police say there are no suspicious circumstances. A post mortem was due to take place yesterday (Wednesday).
