PENDLE MP Gordon Prentice will take the temperature of the Aerospace industry in July, at the Farnborough International Air Show, where is the guest of Rolls Royce bosses -- who have an engine components factory at the Barnoldswick.
Mr Prentice said he will be finding out how the industry was recovering from the events of September 11.
The Labour back bencher said: "I have been keeping a close eye on the problems facing the aerospace industry after the dreadful events last year and the consequential collapse in orders. The knock-on effect has been devastating and it was a huge blow to Pendle when Rolls Royce announced it would be making a third of its workforce redundant."
He said that he hoped the Aerospace industry would benefit from the Government's new tax credit for research and technology investment by larger firms.
Mr Prentice added: "Rolls Royce is a leading-edge hi-tech company and we have to do as much as possible to support that through this difficult period. I will be finding out how things stand now and keep my fingers crossed that the worst is over with. "
