THE sight of an ageing Tom Jones singing a gruesome song to Her Majesty during the televised Jubilee pop concert was too much for me, so I switched over to the other side.
It wasn't much better, but I was amused by the programme which had young recruits doing a National Service re-enactment.
It reminded me of my days of this never-to-be-forgotten experience.
And anything was better than the noisy, tuneless rock concert.
No wonder our Queen only braved half of it, compared to the previous classical concert which was excellent.
The 'pop evening' spoilt what was a marvellous Golden Jubilee.
Both Tom Jones and Paul McCartney deserve sending to the Tower for the lewd, cheeky lyrics they shouted in their raucous voices.
It's a good job there was Shirley Bassey and Tony Bennett there, otherwise, the whole show would have been a fiasco.
