METROLINK has certainly gone on line to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
As part of the celebrations, the company has unveiled its newest-named tram with a twist.
Tram number 1010 has been named Golden Jubilee 2002 with name plates made up in purple and gold, the official Golden Jubilee colours.
Tram 1010 has been especially selected as it was the tram the Queen travelled on during her visit to officially open the Metrolink system ten years ago.
Amanda Best, marketing manager, said: "2002 is proving to be a very busy year for us with our 10th anniversary celebrations in April and the Commonwealth Games coming up shortly.
"However, because of the Queen's visit here ten years ago, we didn't want to let the Golden Jubilee go by without marking it in some way."
She added: "This is the first time that we have used different colours for tram name plates and, in addition, the tram will feature the Golden Jubilee emblem on the front of each cab."
