LEIGH Town Hall staff want local people to know that they are still open for business.
Staff want to get the message across that Leigh residents can still settle council accounts and get general advice and information from the town hall.
Since the closure of the council's smaller cash offices at the beginning of April and the switch to post offices and Pay Point outlets for paying council bills, the number of town hall visitors has dropped.
But the Leigh town hall cash office was unaffected by the changes.
A Wigan Council spokesman said: "Overall the changeover has gone very well. However, it's possible that with the extensive publicity for the closure of the cash offices and the switch to post office payments, some Leigh residents might have thought all the offices were closing.
"Along with the cash office at Wigan Civic Centre, Leigh has not closed and there are no plans for it to close.
"We'd just like to remind local people that both offices are still open for business offering all the same services that residents have been used to."
