DOES A. P. Tobias (Your Letters, May 28) seriously think that his derogatory comments about Christians will help the Jews presently being attacked in Israel.
Surely his anger would be better directed towards the perpetrators of these heinous crimes rather than towards innocent Christians, and surely a little sympathy towards the traumatised hostages would not go amiss.
I have worked and lived in Prestwich for 20 years and have always been impressed at how the varied mixture of cultures and religions have respected each other and made positive efforts to understand, and even enjoy, each other's differences.
His comments can only serve to cause damage to the relationship with a predominantly sympathetic Christian community.
Would he prefer that our priests, vicars and other holy leaders preached intolerance, violence and revenge as part of their sermons?
