REGARDING the Queen's Golden Jubilee, I honestly don't see what there is to celebrate in this last 50 years.
This country is in a sorry state at present, with the NHS, the railways, immigration, asylum seekers and crime. Need I go on?
Many people have done the same job for 50 years, so the Queen's is not so amazing, is it?
The only one who has anything to celebrate is the Queen herself, for having been privileged to live all her life in luxury.
I think it would be a good idea for her to give some of her vast fortune back to the country and get it back on its feet and all the money being spent on celebrations, spent on all our essential services instead.
No, I am not a miserable so and so -- just down to earth and honest.
GLADYS ROBINSON (Mrs), Edge End, Great Harwood.
