AN ANXIOUS mother today fought back tears as she made an emotional appeal for her missing daughter to return home.
Michelle Livesey made the heartfelt plea after revealing how 17-year-old teenager Louise Anne Livesey was four-months pregnant and had been showing signs of depression in recent weeks.
Mrs Livesey, 37, of Tavistock Street, Nelson, sent a message to Louise and said: "Please come home. We miss you so much."
Louise disappeared from the family home over a week ago and has not been seen by her parents since. They say they are growing increasingly concerned for her safety and that of her unborn baby and fear that she may have come to some harm.
The family moved to Nelson from Manchester a year ago.
Mrs Livesey said: "We are really, really worried about her because it is so unlike her not to be in touch. She has run away before, but never without any word for this long.
"We just want to know that she's OK, especially as she is four months pregnant.
"Louise has nothing to worry about, she isn't in any trouble, we just want her to come home because we love her and miss her so much."
Louise turned up briefly at a police station in the Longsight area of Manchester, where she has relatives, four days ago, but said she was going to make her way home.
Michelle said: "We thought she would be coming straight back to Nelson, but we have heard nothing since the police phoned and said she was there.
"She could have hitch-hiked or anything and you never know what might happen. I don't want the next news to be that she has been found dead somewhere."
Insp Paul Robinson, of Nelson Police, said enquiries were ongoing to try to establish Louise's whereabouts.
He added: "We are liaising with social services in Manchester to try to establish an exact location for Louise, but we have no reason to believe she has come to any harm."
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said the investigation was being led by Lancashire Police who had all the details of the case. Anyone with any information can call Burnley police on 01282 425001.
