A COLNE woman, whose brother died of cancer earier this year, decided to do something positive in his memory and has raised £640 for Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle.
Christine Hacking's brother Edward McDowall died in February of cancer of the tongue after a spell in the Reedley-based Hospice.
He was the third cancer victim in Christine's family. Her father and sister died within weeks of each other in 1987.
As a gesture of thanks for the care her brother was given during his last month, Christine, 42, of Thorn Grove, staged a charity concert at Colne Rugby Club featuring local acts Peter Diamond, Nicola Blanchard, Northern Renegade and Simon Houghton.
