A COUPLE raised more than £1,000 for two medical causes in Lancashire at a birthday party.
George Pearce and his wife Bertha, of Claremont, Pleasington, raised £1,040 in donations from George's 70th birthday party, at Stonebridge Bistro, Ribchester.
The pair, who regularly raise money for charity, opted to ask guests to the party for donations to the two charities, instead of birthday presents.
They decided to split the amount equally between Med-Alert, which provides voluntary emergency services for Lancashire, and the North West Air Ambulance.
