I MUST question how Rovers can put 'loyalty' and 'Blackburn End prices' in the same sentence.
Can someone please tell me why a Blackburn End season ticket costs £365 while tickets are available in the CIS stand from £250 and the Jack Walker 'Upper' Tier (possibly the best seats in the house) from £299.
I fully understand the need for Rovers to attract as much revenue as possible. I will be expecting them to boost their squad with multi-million-pound signings and I am willing to pay an additional £50 to make this happen, but I do feel disappointed that a seat elsewhere in the ground will be up to £115 cheaper.
The simple answer may be 'Buy one of the cheaper seats' but it doesn't quite work like that.
People have stood and sat together on the old Blackburn End for many years and have created a fantastic atmosphere.
Are the club exploiting the core fans' familiarity with their own seats, while the 'fringe' supporters appear to be able to receive excellent discounts?
What if this gamble backfires and we have the vocal element dotted around the four corners of the ground? Would having a side 1-0 down at half time, attacking a half-empty Blackburn End in the second half really be beneficial?
