JUBILANT supporters enjoyed a breakfast-time party today after England moved through to the next round of the World Cup.
Pubs and workplaces across East Lancashire were filled with smiling faces as Sven's boys did the business in Japan.
Eve Fitzhenry, 20, a student of Ridings, Blackburn, said: "It was not as good a match as Argentina. They played like I feel this early in the morning."
Phil Miller, landlord of the Queen's Hotel, Eastgate, Accrington, said: "It's been excellent.The atmosphere after the Argentina game was unbelievable."
John Coffey, 50, of Queens Road, Accrington, said: "It's been brilliant in here. We have had breakfast every game. We all support different teams, but today we all supported England. It's once every four years and if you like football you live and breathe the World Cup."
Andy Buczynski, 47, Clement Street, Accrington, said: "It's an open competition this World Cup, anybody could win it. Everybody's on a high at the moment, everybody's got a buzz."
Nartin Fish, 21, of Holly Tree, Blackburn, booked the day off and kitted himself out in red and white face paint and flag sarong at Pitchers bar in Blackburn town centre.
"We are usually finishing drinking by now rather than starting but it is great. I booked the day off exactly because of the match and will carry on drinking all day."
Neil Otley, 30, of Ash Street, Oswaldtwistle, organised flexi time at Jubilee House in Blackburn to make the match.
"We are all behind them all the way what ever the result following such a brilliant performance last time."
Pete Atherton, 19, of Bryan Terrace, Darwen, was due to start work at 2pm in Morrisons.
He said: "Everyone really enjoyed themselves.
"It really started to build up once they got in their stride. I think Sven prepared them well and lead them as well as possible. The team lo.oked strong and confident."
