JAMES Richard Booth got involved in someone else's fight and ended up being arrested.
Blackburn magistrates heard that police called to a disturbance outside Moist on Northgate saw Booth standing over another man throwing punches.
But Richard Prew, defending, said the police had caught the tail-end of the incident which had begun with Booth in the role of peacemaker. Booth, 25, of St James Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly and was fined £60 with £55 costs.
Mr Prew said Booth was in the bar minding his own business when a fight started outside between two rival groups.
"For some reason he went out to try and split them up and they turned on him," said Mr Prew.
"He retaliated and that is what the officer saw."
