MINERS A and B teams helped their causes at both ends of the table after earning hard fought victories in the Premier Division of the Burnley and District Darts League.
The A team kept the pressure on league leaders Netherfield by winning 5-2 away at Alma - a result which takes them joint top with 10 points.
And in an early season relegation battle, Miners B moved away from the bottom thanks to a close 4-3 victory at home to fellow strugglers Green Street.
Honours out
THE honours have been dished out in the Hyndburn Independent Snooker League with King Street and Great Harwood Golf Club winning Divisions One and Two respectively.
Potters were crowned team knockout champions after beating Great Harwood Conservative Club C in the final, with King Street's Bill Moore the Singles Champion.
Ian Pickavance and Stephen Kellett of Great Harwood Golf Club picked up the doubles prize and King Street had further cause for celebration with Tommy Hannon winning the Division One Highest Break prize with 44.
A break of 39 secured the Division Two prize for Colin Crompton of Globe Bowling and Billiards Club, and Potters' Sean Curtis completed the accolades by claiming the Champion of Champions title.
No love lost
THERE was no love lost in the Novak's Summer League, as Bacup Conservative A whitewashed their C team counterparts 10-0 to retain their position at the top of the league.
The B team are now seven points adrift in second place after being defeated 6-4 at Rossendale Trans A.
