civilised option
IF we cannot effect change through the ballot box, how then would Al-Amin (Letters, May 31) suggest? Perhaps a military coup, as in Pakistan; suicide bombers, as in Palestine; terrorism, as in Kashmir, or armed religious bigotry and conflict, as was in Afghanistan?
Al-Amin has no concept of democracy.
What is "disgusting and disturbing" is the hostility Al-Amin has for the democratically-elected members of Burnley council and the total disregard for the votes of 10,000 fellow citizens of the town.
He arrogantly describes them as deprived fascist segregationist, extremists. Who is the extremist here?
I most certainly hope Al-Amin does not represent the views and sentiments emanating from the rest of the community of Daneshouse and Stoneyholme.
