THE health trust covering Bury reported a slight fall in hospital waiting lists in April, bucking the national trend.
Although the total number of people waiting for treatment across the country increased in April compared to March, waiting lists for the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, the new health body covering Bury, fell by 13 patients.
There were 16880 patients waiting in March compared to 16867 in April.
However, the Trust reported there was a 48 per cent increase in those patients waiting 12 months for treatment, bringing the number up to 114 compared to 77 in March, again bucking the national trend of a reduction in those waiting a year for treatment.
