A LEGENDARY soul night at The Longfield Suite in Prestwich is to be transmitted to thousands of people.
For the first time the next monthly gathering of "Northern Soul" at the venue is to be broadcast live on air on BBC Radio Two.
Presenters Mark Lamar, Richard Surling of Jazz FM and Andy Davies, who accompanies Jonathan Ross on his television show, will play tunes from the event in their programme on Saturday, June 22.
Around 500 dancers are expected to the Suite on the night and there will be music until 6am on Sunday.
The night will be live on the radio from midnight to 4am.
Manager of the Longfield Suite David Curtis, said: "We hold a soul night on the first Friday of every month until 2am and this probably our fourth all-nighter. We have become quite a name in soul circles and are known as The Sound of Prestwich. This is the first time we will go live on air so we are really looking forward to it."
