What an exciting week with the win over Argentina!
It's been a busy week for me as Sven, starting off with a video recording of me being interviewed "live by satellite link" for a business World Cuplunch at the JJB Stadium in Wigan.
I was interviewed the day before in order that this could be shown at half time on Friday to this 350 strong group of football fans. The idea was that the interview with the real Sven was being conducted at that moment.
A footnote to the interview proved the doubters right - all in the name of entertainment and that's what it is all about.
Wigan Athletic earlier this year staged a fun piece and I am to attend the first match of their season in August.
Friday was a session for the Royal Bank of Scotland in Bolton which hosted another World Cup lunch for a number of high profile businesses in the Bolton area. This was followed by a somewhat chaotic visit to a pub I have often visited, but no one originally clocked on to the Sven bit. Alas, they found me out on Friday and as we were leaving, the pub erupted into Sven mode and we returned for more fun with the locals which lasted well into the evening.
On the strength of the RBS lunch, I received a telephone call from a top business man in Bolton to "appear" at a wedding reception (as Sven!) the following day, and so on Saturday, it was another "appearance" at the DeVere Hotel at the Reebok Stadium.
A couple of days rest, which I am welcoming, and then, as a guiding Ambassador for South Lancashire, the AGM on Wednesday.
An early start on Thursday as I travel to Newport Powys for a car launch and a rush back after an overnight stay to Manchester for a lunchtime appearance with Gazza on Friday.
BTW, don't know if I mentioned it, but have you seen the Delmonte Cirio advert for Pasta sauce yet, the one with Sven in? It was the back of my head on the opening shot - what a way to earn a bit of cash!
