CRAIG Brown's first real test will be against Crystal Palace at Deepdale, it was revealed.
The new fixture lists were published this week, and for once, the Christmas bank holiday games won't involve too much travelling.
Home to Rotherham on Boxing Day and then away to Stoke City on New Year's Day leaves just a December 29 away trip to Crystal Palace - quite reasonable given previous excursions on bank holidays.
The first of former Premiership club to visit Deepdale will be Ipswich on September 1, Leicester on October 12, and then Derby on March 3.
North End will visit Portman Road on January 18, Leicester's new stadium March 15 and Pride Park September 21.
Preston travel to Burnley on Feburary 15, with the home fixture on November 2.
The season ends away to Norwich, one of last season's unsucessful play-off teams.
