IT is a year since I wrote to the council about the dead trees on the grass verges in Tennyson Avenue, Bury. They wrote back to say the trees are not dangerous.
In their own words trees "play an important role by cleaning the air, creating wildlife habitats, reducing noise, preventing erosion, providing shelter, creating shade, releasing oxygen and aiding relaxation". If only all that were true . . .
