I WAS more than a little surprised to read a recent article about a local school using impressionable young children in order to give what was virtually a free advertisement for McDonald's.
I am sure the company were only too pleased to set up a "mini market" at the school in question! What a splendid way to encourage children to adopt what most people would not regard as a healthy diet.
Surely there is a better way to teach literacy skills than this!
