HE may be feeling the heat of Japan - but Blackburn Rovers winger Damien Duff is the man Spain fear going into tomorrow's mouthwatering clash with the Republic of Ireland.

Duff says he hasn't enjoyed the Asian summer conditions, and has spent much of the time in bed.

But he's sure to be fired up for tomorrow's clash - and doesn't Spanish coach Jose Camacho know it.

Camacho has admitted that Ireland's front-line pairing of Duff and Leeds striker Robbie Keane worry him greatly.

Although Spain will start the game as favourites, Camacho knows that his defence will be given a severe testing by the Irish strikers. Duff and Keane have received rave reviews for their performances and the manner in which they are able to run with the ball.

And Camacho believes they are a formidable weapon for Mick McCarthy's team.

He said: "We have been concentrating on our own performances, but Ireland have played some very good football.

"They have two very mobile forwards who pull people out of position and they also attack with a lot of pace. But we have experience at the back."

Duff has ruled out a move to the continent after experiencing the humidity of an Asian summer this month.

The Irish winger said: "They can forget all about me in Italy or Spain. I have not enjoyed the heat and the humidity out here (in the Far East) at all.

"In fact, I have spent most of my time away from the training ground in bed to avoid the high temperatures.

"It doesn't suit me at all so I have no interest in going abroad nor have I heard anything about interest from Italian or Spanish clubs."

Duff is again said to be a £20 million target for Manchester United and Liverpool, and another high profile performance tomorrow will only add to that value.

But he said: "I haven't even heard anything about Liverpool or Manchester United other than the speculation in the media."
